Half Term Information Summer 2 2026

As we come to the end of another busy half term, we would like to share some of the wonderful learning that has taken place in Year 1.
 
In Science, the children have been learning about plants. We explored the different parts of a plant and discovered what plants need to grow and stay healthy. The children enjoyed observing plants closely and discussing their findings.
 
In History, we have been looking at different types of buildings and homes. We talked about the features of houses and buildings and compared homes over time.
 
In Maths, we have been revising and practising telling the time, focusing on o'clock and half past times. We have also begun learning about fractions, identifying and finding halves and quarters of shapes and quantities.
 
The children also had a fantastic time taking part in Sports Day. Despite the very hot weather, they showed great enthusiasm, determination and excellent sportsmanship throughout all of the events. We were very proud of their effort and positive attitudes.
