Half term information Summer 2 2026

What a wonderful way to end the year!

This half term, our topic has been Deep Sea Diving, and what better way to learn than through a seaside-themed WOW Day? We enjoyed making sandcastles, carefully brushing away sand to uncover hidden shells, fishing for sea creatures, and paddling in pools.

In English, we designed our own seaside shape poems, using poetic devices such as alliteration, onomatopoeia, rhythm, and rhyme. We also created postcards and wrote to our loved ones, practising informal letter writing while learning about the features of formal letters.

In Design and Technology, we explored puppets from the past, learning about different types, styles, and how they are made. We then had a fantastic time designing and creating our own puppets.

We thoroughly enjoyed Sports Day, where we developed our teamwork skills and supported one another throughout the events. In our PE lessons, we built on this by taking part in team-building activities and games with children from across the year group.

In PSHE, we reflected on our time in school this year and thought about how much we have changed, learned, and grown. We discussed the new opportunities and responsibilities that await us in September and celebrated all that we have achieved.

It has been a wonderful year, and we are incredibly proud of everything the children have accomplished. We wish them all the very best as they move on to their next exciting adventure.
