In Year 3, we have been looking at the work of artist Gareth Fuller, in particular his piece of work 'Quarantine Map'. We looked at the different buildings and other spaces that he had included, and thought about how his 'voice' came across in the words he used. Linking our Art work to our 'Local Area' topic, we then practiced drawing some of the places we know around Cambourne. We found that Morrisons and our school had some very interesting shapes, and we practiced drawing them with tracing paper, using both a pencil and a pen. Our next step was to create a monoprint, using carbon paper, which was very exciting and seemed like magic! Finally, we took our inspiration from Gareth Fuller and drew the places around Cambourne that were important to us, trying our best to use the same lines that we used when we traced the buildings and the parks.
