Half Term Information Summer 2 2022

This term has been packed with exciting learning in Year 3! The thrill of our European Neighbours topic, as well as STEM week, Healthy Lifestyles week, Fairtrade Fortnight and our musical production all fed into our learning. In Maths, we have been applying our thinking to telling the time, describing shapes and measuring mass and capacity. Our Science work on light has been equally interesting and informative with lots of testing of our hypotheses, including an investigation into the effects of UV light during the heatwave. For English we developed our oracy (speaking and listening) skills through learning, rehearsing and performing our production ‘Rock Pool.’ We then explored the book ‘Flood’ by Alvaro F. Villa by writing setting and character descriptions, ensuring that we carefully punctuated direct speech and used ambitious adverbials. Other learning included thinking about why religious (and non-religious) believers ‘Look after our World’ in RE, discussing ‘Managing Change’ in PSHE and developing our striking and fielding skills in PE.
